Helps Needed with Shopping Cart, Web Hosting N Domain Name

Dear all, i have referred to the previous post about shopping cart n in fact downloaded but i really have got zero idea how to implement it on my site ... i approached some company on web hosting n domain name n apparently been told that i would need to figure it out myself even after paying for the web hosting n domain name. Hope some kind soul can enlighten me

I hope i get your question right. Here are steps you need to do in order to setup a shopping cart.

1) Find a domain name and a hosting company to host your web site. Choose a hosting company that is reliable. ie hopely 0% downtime.

2) Determine what kind of shopping cart software to use. I would suggest to use one that is built using php and mysql as most hosting environment will support these. Basically, check with the hosting company that they are able to run this software.

3) Customize the look and feel of the web site

4) 2 types of maintainance. 1) Uploading products, checking orders, etc... 2) Maintaining your hosting environment.

Hope this will be able to give you a start. There are of course companys out there that will do all this for you for a fee.
