Am I Allow to Sell Toys Online? Any Copyright Issue?

Hi people,

i thinking of selling toys such as doraemonm, hello kitty , angry birds etc. online.

Will there be any copyright issue? Anyone know about this?

doraemonm, hello kitty, angry birds etc are all trademarks owned by individuals or firms. They are legally protected. There are many "ifs" to consider and even a lawyer specialising in trademark & patent rights cannot give you a straight answer.

IF the good is FAKE, this is an outright breach of law.

IF the good is real (can you prove it?), then you are in the grey area. This means that the you can fight it out in the court of law should the trademark holder sues you.

I think it strongly depends on where you wanna sell ba. I know on gmarket, they dun really control hello kitty or doraemon products, but angry birds is very strictly prohibited, even an 'annoucement' was made by gmarket to sellers, but if you dun advertise as angry birds, but as angry birdies they dun really care 'Bigger' brands like LV of chantal thomass, the seller must file a letter of authencity with gmarket first,
As for selling on blogshops............... i feel that anythings goes............. but dun go propagating on 'google' advertising 'hello kitty products' la. sure kenna one, Always got those green eyed monsters out there who try to sabotaged 'you' when sales is on the rise.
IMO........if can dun sell den dun sell but if must sell, must leave a low key

Hello Kitty & Doraemon's distributorship can be bought. Disney is also very loose with its distributorship, so you can get licensed and sell them legally. Otherwise you are putting yourself at the risk of getting sued.

Yes but it depend where you sold while is till find out that lot of soft toys selling around and they still get their license.
If you be the reseller then i don't think is a problem unless you do those soft toys yourself then you may in trouble.

yup. you can see tons of pirated stuff toyz at bazaar malam, few would really give a damn. But if you open a shop selling the same stuff downtown.........your asking for trouble.
Case is, if bazaar malam got no pirated stuff, who wants to go. Its just like eating chicken rice , and telling the vendor' 我不要鸡肉‘
