Personally, I'd think that 'box' shop is more like an advertisement to your products. You may still be able to sell your items there, but profit margin may not be so rosy after deducting the rental. Sometimes, you may sell nothing during weekdays, sad to say that, but it's true.

For people who do not want to invest too much money on owing a shop, a pushcart, to test the market, or some may treat this as their 2nd income on what they've source from or handmade by them. So, 'box' shop will be a good place for them to display (do the talking) and at the same time sell to end-user who may love them.

I just feel that 'Box' shops are getting too common nowadays. It seems like anyone can simply just open a shop, build a few shelf, get a few salespersons and get boxpreneurs to rent them. Somehow, it seems to me that they are lacks of enough planning and no theme.
I believe it is time for business mind people to really brain-stormed something new.

Personally, prefer bazaars and pushcarts...products move fast and sales are much better. Tried shelves spaces..lost money... Duno whether to give it another go at another location?

Honestly you can get exposure on your products good marketing as your name cards are available there for contacting you.Meanwhile you don't have to be there but the downside the shop has to look presentable totally organize the products display if not it's a mess really as the owner just want to get rental from those who knows nothing at all.Cheers and good luck to you.

I tried Box shop before but I don't think it worth investing.
Box rental are also very costly if you are looking at "eye level shelve"

Personally I feel those who want to try box shop, treat it as a way to market you products. It better to move from one box shop to another box shop one or two month so more people will know you.

Just be sure that the box shop owner allow you to display you name card.

I myself have tried renting a 'box" space, and i agree that its getting messy as everyone tries to decorate their own spaces.

Therefore, i started a store myself and im now renting out to others instead.
I try to stick to a theme mainly for ladies selling apparels, accessories, bags , shoes and anything relating to ladies.
On a whole the store looks like a neat boutique.

Hopefully this works!

Hi, i like your idea..hehe.. i also wanted to do one similar one for kids items...maybe next time :P

yeah..box space quite messy..i went to visit some of the box spaces and find it very messy...i myself just commit to one such box space but i took the whole cabinet so it looks better. Just a small box really can't attract people

The price is super duper ridiculous. I believe less than 10% of those vendors can earn some profit. So, they will have to depend on new vendors.

I feel the box shop display are very untidy
Most people come in and look at the items without even buying.
nowadays, I saw many empty shelves as compare to last time.
maybe selling at box space does not really work here.
